Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

The International Refereed Journal of Human and Artistic Studies (IJHAR), International Journal Editors, has adopted the principle of applying the COPE Code of Conduct. Within the framework of this principle, the editors of our journal are expected to comply with the COPE principles.

IJHAR will consider complaints against editors who do not comply with the COPE Journal Editors' Code of Conduct. We hope that our editors will identify aspects of our journal's policy and practice that should be reviewed and discussed.

IJHAR editors should have the ethical duties and responsibilities specified in the "COPE BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES FOR JOURNAL EDITORS" guide. These duties and responsibilities are summarized below.

Editors' Responsibilities to the Journal

Editors should be responsible for everything published in their journals.

Editors try to solve referee-author problems by trying to meet the needs of readers and authors.

To improve IJHAR and to enable indexes to be recognized, the editors:

  1. They should have processes to guarantee the quality of the article they publish.
  2. The author must defend the referee's freedom of expression.
  3. It should protect academic, scientific, and artistic concerns.
  4. It prevents the author and his article from compromising scientific and ethical standards.
  5. Always willing to consider corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when needed.
  6. Reads the article and avoids delays in starting the process.

Editors' Relationship with the Reader

Editors are responsible for considering the feedback from readers, researchers, and practitioners about the published studies and taking necessary actions and responses.

Editors' Relationships with Authors

Editors decide about the article based on the original value of the article, the aims of the journal, and ethical rules.

The editor should take the article prepared by considering the journal's purposes and ethical rules in the evaluation process.

The editor and the field editor should consider the referees' positive comments unless there is a critical justification.

The editor must respond to the requests and opinions of the authors with feedback.

Editors' Relationships with Reviewers

The editor must appoint the appropriate field editor for the article subject.

The field editor must appoint a referee suitable for the article topic.

Editors should ensure no conflict of interest or conflict of interest between the referee and the authors.

Editors guide the referees in the article evaluation process and provide the requested information.

Editors are obliged to hide the identity information of the author and the referee by double-blind refereeing.

The referees must take the necessary warnings and precautions to evaluate the article in a timely, impartial, and scientific manner.

Relations with Editors' Advisory and Scientific Committee

Editors consider the opinions and suggestions of the advisory and scientific committees about the articles.

Editors' Relationship with Journal Founding Editors and Publishers

Decisions to be made by the editors about the article should be independent of the journal founders and the publisher.

Editors' Submission of the Article

Editors; It is responsible for observing the journal publication principles, aims, and international standards in the articles to be published in the journal.

Editors are responsible for the ethical compatibility and scientificity of each article published in the journal.

Protection of Personal Data

Editors cannot give the personal information of authors to third parties.

Ethics Committee, Human and Animal Rights

Editors are responsible for protecting human and animal rights if the article's content includes studies on humans and animals. It is responsible for rejecting the article if ethics committee approval is not sent for studies that require an ethics committee report.

Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

Editors are responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all articles submitted and published to the journal.

Complaints to Editors

Editors are responsible for giving clear and enlightening answers to complaints from referees, authors, and readers.

Conflicts of Interest and Relationships

Editors are responsible for taking precautions against conflicts of interest that may arise between authors, referees, and third parties to complete the articles' impartial and independent evaluation processes.
